Girls' Trip

Part of our spring break trip included a girls' trip for me with all of my college friends. So, I guess I kind of had a spring break too. It was so much fun!! We drove down to Gulfport on Friday andstayed the weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Obviously, this was a kid free trip and it was perfect. We did absolutely nothing but lay by the pool, drink, eat and gamble. After dinner on Friday night, we all managed to sit at the same blackjack table. You can imagine how fun that was! Afterwards, a few of us made it to the bar/club upstairs. We aren't really the "clubbing" type, but it's always fun and funny to watch what goes on. Some of the patrons there were hilarious and the music was so random. I mean, who doesn't love a mixed rendition of Usher and Shania Twain together right? Saturday, we were out at the pool by 10:00 and stayed out there all day long. We went to dinner at the Beau Rivage on Saturday night and it was so good. We gambled some more and made it back to the room at a pretty reasonable hour. We headed home on Sunday. It was a quick trip, but it was so fun.

This group of friends is very special to me. We were super close in college and did everything together. And, aside from bachelorette parties here and there, it's been 9 years since our last trip as a group. I feel old just typing that. So, this was long overdue. And we are already talking about our next trip and promised that it won't be as long next time around. While we don't see each other as much as we'd like, when we are together, we just pick back up where we left off the last time and always laugh so hard. I love these girls and I'm very thankful for them!

Advice from your MOM....ALWAYS make time for your girlfriends...it is so much easier to do in this day and age.

Plan as far ahead in advance as you need to, but keep up the contacts!!! Love you (AND all your great group of friends!) MOM
