This whole "time needs to slow down thing" doesn't seem to be happening. Has time always gone by this fast and I just haven't noticed? The answer must be yes because I still find myself writing 2007 on checks. And my baby turns 3 next week.

So anyways, we've had a lot going on since my last post. Nothing crazy or anything, just busy and fun. This past weekend we had a Metzner movie night on Friday. For those of you who feel the need to watch "Yogi Bear", let me just save you a couple of hours and don't watch it. Even Ella got a little tired of it, but we watched it to the end. Saturday, we took Ella to her swim class. This was my first time taking her this round of lessons. I'm amazed at how well she does and how much she loved to jump off the sides. She loves to kick around and she can motor around all over the place. And the child LOVES to go down the slide. While she is far from being able to swim on her own, I feel totally comfortable letting her swim in our neighborhood pool all by herself. Kidding. She has no fear of the water, which is a good and bad thing, and she loves blowing bubbles.

Saturday night was girls' night with 2 of my friends, Alison and Kathryn. It was so much fun and we started off with dinner at 5 Seasons Brewery. The food was awesome and their beers are super too. Then, we went to 3 Sheets--a swanky bar in the parking lot of a Kroger. That in and of itself is funny, but the bar is pretty good and it's a fun place to people watch. And they have blueberry martinis. Enough said. We had a lot of fun and then it was time to go. I think kids come equipped with a secret radar that alerts them at 6:15 the morning after a certain parental unit was over-served the night before. They are smart like that. We went to church and Sunday School, where our friends taught a great lesson about teaching spirituality to children. After church, we came home and put the girls down for naps and then headed over to our friends' (Adam and Hannah) gorgeous new home. They had a cookout and it was a lot of fun and both girls did great while we were over there.

I've spent this week just running errands getting things ready for Ella's birthday party, which is this Saturday. My parents came in town today and DeeDee and Gragra (which is Ella for "Granddad") come in on Friday. I love having all my family in town and we're so blessed that both sets of parents get along with each other so well. We are so excited so stay tuned for details and pictures from the party. Happy early birthday to my baby. How in the world are you already 3?

I think she's the younger, female version of Michael Phelps.

Just a cute picture of my girls.

Is there anything cuter than a baby in a sink?
