And, it's now official. I'm a for realz mom. As proof I have a carpool number on my windshield. (All I need now are mom jeans to go with my button down shirts. Have you even noticed how all the moms in commercials always wear button down oxford type shirts? Especially during commercials for cleaning products? Ok, I'm getting off track). Anyways, see picture below of said carpool number. Ella loves carpool. Me, I just kind of like it. For the past 2 years, I've walked her to her room and picked her up. In doing so, I was able to see her in her room with all of her friends and talk to a lot of the other moms. Now, I drop her off and other moms and teachers take her to her room. I was expecting (read kind of hoping for) at least a slight hesitation on the first day of carpool. It didn't even phase her and she hopped right out of the car like she'd been doing it since she was born. She said "bye bye mommy, love you" and was off. It's funny how the most random things are another reality check that my "baby" is growing up and becoming a true big girl.
Finley has been awesome her first few days. This past Monday, her teacher told me that she will be walking by Wednesday (today). She was right because she's walking now. I'm still way not used to seeing her upright, but it's really cute to see. She still crawls some too, but we are quickly approaching the point where she's walking all the time. Surprisingly, she has not freaked out when I hand her over to her sweet teachers either. It's so fun to drop her off and pick her up and get a quick peek at what she's doing.
Here are a couple of pictures we took on their first day of school as well as a picture of my mom badge.
Finley's 1st Day.
My mom badge.
Both girls on the 1st day. It's almost impossible to get a mutually good picture of them.
