Happy Birthday Finley

This is late.  A lot late.  But, better late than never right?

Happy Birthday to our hilarious Finley.  You've been 2 for almost one month now and you've slipped right into the 2 year old role with ease.  I think you actually started acting 2 a while ago, but now it's official.  In keeping with tradition, here's our letter to you on your 2nd birthday:

Dear Finley,

You are now a big girl and ready to take on the world, in a 2 year old way.  You are Miss Independent and want to do everything on your own and by yourself.  Your favorite word is "no" and your favorite color is purple.  Here's a list of things you say that makes me laugh every time you say them:

"it's o-tay"
"i love you"
"no, no otto/sanley"
"no, no, shhh"
"i funny"
"happy ba-day, to you"
"i-ceam"
"right der"

You LOVE to watch videos of yourself on my iphone.  It totally fascinates you.  You just started sitting in a booster seat and you think it's pretty neat to sit with the big kids at the table.  You also think it's pretty neat to make an absolute mess at mealtime.  The other night you used your daddy's shorts to wipe your mouth after we brushed your teeth.  Which reminds me, you do not like, in every sense of those words, the following:  brushing your teeth, having sunscreen applied, blueberries, and being told no.  Which is funny because that's your favorite word.  Here's a list of the things you love:  milk, cheese, Elmo, anything your sister does (I'm secretly hoping this translates into potty training), your baby, your harmonica, gatorade, coloring, getting water from the refrigerator (with a new cup each time).

You have come a LONG way since you were a newborn and just a few months old  You are perfect to us and there isn't anything we would change about you.  We love you just the way you are.

Love always,

Mom and Dad

And, here are some pictures from Finley's birthday party.  We kept it super small, but it was lots of fun.

This was supposed to look like Elmo.

Grover.  It's obvious right?
